Yoga for Weight Loss

There are so many styles of yoga and so many ways it can help with weight loss. A power yoga class can help to burn calories - some classes can be quite aerobic! A gentle class will teach relaxation and mindfulness. We all know that for many people stress can lead to over-eating or drinking. A relaxing yoga class can be an alternative to indulging. And mindfulness that is taught in yoga applies to all we do in life including being mindful of what we put in our bodies! Finally yoga can help with more restful sleep and sleep has been shown to be a good component of health.

Yoga for Health

I teach a gentle yoga class at the Wellness Community. My students are in various stages of recovery. The class helps them to relax, stretch their sometimes achy muscles, breathe, and focus.  They often tell me how relaxed they feel after class.
